Institute Scholarship Program Information
APPA's Institute for Facilities Management consists of a three-track progressive program beginning at a basic level of facilities management and building to more technical and advanced levels of management skills. The intention of the week-long program, which is offered every January and August, is to build a comprehensive base of knowledge through three complementary sessions. The coursework focuses on operating systems, management issues, and current topics affecting facilities management. The goal is to promote and maintain professional standards and sound management through a comprehensive core of instruction, promoting professional growth, and presenting new techniques and technologies.

Scholarship Program Policy

  1. The NYAPPA Scholarship Program was established "in order to stimulate further development in the field of facilities management and to advance the purposes of the Association".
  2. Only persons presently employed full-time in the field of facilities management at an APPA member institution are eligible.
  3. Scholarship recipients will be selected by a committee established by the president on an individual basis. (See regional criteria for additional scholarship requirements.)
  4. The amount of a scholarship grant will be at the discretion of the NYAPPA Executive Committee. Normally, scholarships will be granted to cover registration fees, lodging, meals exclusive of alcohol and transportation at APPA's Institute for Facilities Management.
  5. Two scholarships will be awarded each year.
  6. Preference will be given to persons who plan to pursue or continue a career in facilities management and who display high motivation and leadership ability.
  7. Scholarships will normally be granted to an individual only once.
  8. Send your completed application for either the Fall or Winter Institute sessions to the NYAPPA office:
